Strength represents the courage, strength and endurance necessary to achieve self-control and tame the lion within. It indicates the need for harmony between the conscious and the unconcious, the ego and the id, the reconciliation of the civilised person with their primordial desire nature. Strength suggests the need to tame and integrate our instinctual urges through loving acceptance and gentle force rather than repressing them. On an outer level Strength indicates the inner strength and determination to overcome obstacles and the ability or need to face a problem or situation with hope and in a calm and compassionate manner. Whether inner or outer Strength suggests there is an opportunity for reconciliation with an enemy.

The archetypal force of The Chariot represents the great leap forward and the energy and drive to achieve a desired goal. The charioteer takes hold of the reins and steers himself forward with great focus and skill. There is the determination and confidence to succeed. Here is a healthy ego which is strong and self-assured. The Chariot may also suggest a struggle or conflict, either an inner one or between self and others, yet it indicates there is strong potential for the resolution of such difficulties and for triumph over adversity.
