Have you ever considered trimming a Tarot deck? Some, such as the Druidcraft Tarot are very large and look fabulous trimmed down. A trimmed Deluxe Thoth is also very effective. Here, TarotOracle shows us the ins and outs. The only thing I would suggest doing would be to use a scalpel and steel ruler rather than scissors

Mary K. Greer has recently produced another longer 4 minute video featuring images of cartomancers from the 16th through early 20th century. It is interesting to see that not a lot has changed over the years, with the vast majority of cartomancers portrayed in the images being women, and from all walks of life…

At the ATS Convention last month I had the pleasure of listening to Mary Greer as she presented Cartomancy in Western Art, which included a slideshow of possibly more than 100 wonderful images from various paintings, prints and postcards portraying cartomancers from the 16th through early 20th century.

Mary K Greer has taken a selection of these images and made this wonderful video. Additional videos are available at Animoto. The link is below this image…

Let the Tarot Do All the Work ~ The Opening of The Key Spread

Here, Tarot author and expert Paul Hughes-Barlow of Super Tarot talks of his preference of the Opening of The Key spread over the traditional use of significators. By using this spread he suggests we can let the Tarot do all the work. This certainly is an interesting spread, and one I hope to explore more despite the fact that Paul remarks that it “is so daunting that few Tarot Readers get beyond reading about it, then having a lie down in a darkened room for an hour.”

If anyone has any comments about using this spread I would love to hear from you.

Rosanne Cash ~ The Wheel

Wow, how amazing is this music video for The Wheel by Rosanne Cash! I stumbled upon it on the internet and just had to post it. There are close to 30 references to Tarot card imagery.

Some imagery is subtle such as the 9 of Swords, Ace of Wands, The Hierophant, the Ace of Pentacles and Temperance, amongst others. However some are so beautifully done. My favourites are the 4 of Swords, the 2 of Wands, the 2 of Swords, the 4 of Wands, the 6 of Wands, the 6 of Cups, the 6 of Pentacles, the Queen of Cups, The Hanged Man, the 2 of Cups, the 5 of Cups, the 5 of Swords and the 10 of Pentacles.

I just love it (and it’s actually not a bad song either). Anything Tarot sure gets my attention. I’ve never watched a music video so many times!!!
